Function documentationPatient Viewer

You use the patient viewer to display information from the electronic patient record (medical record) of a patient in task-related form. This component of the documentation work station initially displays the parts of the electronic patient record for the situation or specifically for each task. The display of a patient record integrated into the documentation process is an essential component of the Documentation Work Station.

Example Example

If the user wishes to issue a prescription for a patient (corresponds to a task in the documentation work station) it would be sensible to show the user all prescriptions previously issued to the patient, so that he can issue a prescription for the same medication, if applicable.

End of the example.

The patient viewer comprises the following areas:

  • Function toolbar (for calling all possible functions)

  • Aspect toolbar (vertical display of Aspects)

See Standard Aspects for the Patient Viewer

  • Overview display: Overview of the selected medical objects (e.g. diagnoses) in list or tree display

  • Detailed display of medical objects (e.g. HTML, PDF, modal window), for example

    • Display clinical orders (preregistrations) in print preview

    • Display documents in PDF or HTML print preview

    • Display appointments and movements

    • Display outpatient clinic folder

    • Display requests in PDF print preview

    • Display medical services in HTML

    • Display diagnoses in a dialog box

    • Display medical records in a dialog box

    • Display procedures in a dialog box

    • Display Renewable Documents

Note Note

In i.s.h.med the progress documentation is available, in addition to the outpatient note and outpatient clinic folder functions, for entering and displaying notes concerning the treatment progress of a patient. If you have configured the i.s.h.med progress documentation, you will replace the outpatient note and outpatient clinic folder functions. For more information, see i.s.h.med progress documentation.

End of the note.

Integration

The patient viewer is integrated into the following versions of the documentation work station and can be used in these:

Prerequisites

In addition to the customizing functions for the SAP Ambulatory Care Management or the surgery system and the documentation work station you must have executed the customizing functions for the patient viewer.

See Patient Organizer/Patient Viewer – Customizing Functions.

Features

The patient viewer is restricted to display and navigation functions in the medical record and should always be viewed in the context of the documentation work station.

If the user activates a task in the documentation work station, the patient viewer displays the aspects of the patient record which were assigned using the Information Item of the task. The system displays the aspect flagged in aspect definition as open.

Note Note

The patient viewer generally resembles the patient organizer in the clinical system i.s.h.med, but does not have change functions for the patient record.

If you use i.s.h.med and the patient organizer, you will already know how to operate the patient viewer. The patient organizer remains available in i.s.h.med independently of the patient viewer.

End of the note.

Activities

The following navigation functions are available in the patient viewer:

  • Choose an aspect in the aspect toolbar to toggle to this aspect.

  • Open the relevant Grouping Node in the overview display to list the desired objects (e.g. procedures).

  • You use the hot spot on the corresponding object to call the detailed display of this object.
