Updating
When updating the system generates corresponding nursing services from items of the “nursing procedure” basic catalog category and their cycles, taking into account the update period and any suspensions which may exist.
Update periods do not overlap and gaps are not permitted.
Note
Note that updates are only available for an inpatient nursing plan.
You can process the planned nursing services which result from the update on the Services
tab page.
The system updates the nursing plan during the following actions:
manually using the Updates
tab page with a detail area
without user action
If the system administrator has set the organizational unit-related parameter (OU parameter) N1NPUAUTO
, the system will update the nursing plan for the time period system date + OU parameter N1NPUNOD
+ 1 when saving the nursing plan.
Consequences of updating
If the system has updated the nursing plan at least once, it has generated nursing services for the update period for items of the "nursing procedure" basic catalog category with cycles, taking into account any existing suspensions. It does not matter whether this was triggered manually or automatically. During the following actions the system will subsequently cancel or generate the nursing services within the update period:
when inserting a new item of the “nursing procedure” basic catalog category with cycles
See Creating Items.
when changing a cycle or an item of the “nursing procedure” basic catalog category which has already been updated
In future the system will immediately adjust planned nursing services. Note that the system will also adjust manually created nursing services.
See Cycle Processing
when terminating an item of the “nursing procedure” basic catalog category with cycles
when canceling an item of the “nursing procedure” basic catalog category with cycles
when suspending an item of the “nursing procedure” basic catalog category with cycles
See Suspensions
If the system administrator has not set the OU parameter N1NPUAUTO
, you can only update manually. You can find a detailed description under Activities
.
The first time you update the nursing plan, you can do this retroactively. This means the system retroactively generates nursing services from items of the “nursing procedure” basic catalog category and their cycles, taking into account any existing suspensions. The time until which you can retroactively create nursing services is the time the patient is either admitted or transferred to the care unit.
Example
You admit a patient to the care unit on 1.1. at 10:00.
Due to a lack of time you do not create the nursing plan with items of the “nursing procedure” basic catalog category with cycles until the 2.1. at 12:00. However, the items were performed on the 1.1.
During retroactive updating the system now creates the corresponding nursing services until 1.1. at the latest. 10.00 am.
The Create Update function is available on the Evaluations tab page of the detail area. You can use this to manually update the nursing plan. Proceed as follows:
You choose
(Create Update
).
In the subsequent dialog box you enter a time until which you wish to update and then choose Continue
.
Caution
The first time you update the nursing plan the From Time is preset with the system time and is ready for input.
If you wish to retroactively update, choose
(Extend Back To:
). The system overwrites the From Time with the proposed time of the pushbutton. You can also overwrite the From Time with your own entry.
Note
The system calculates the From Time using the OU parameter N1NPUNOD
. It presets this using the value system date + N1NPUNOD
+ 1. You can overwrite this value. If the system administrator has not set this parameter, the system uses the value “1”.
The system generates nursing services from the item selected in the navigation area and its cycles, taking into account any existing suspensions.
