What's New
Lazy Hardware Init
All devices connected to the POS were previously initialized when the cash register started. This could lead to problems, especially when devices were not available at the start of the POS or another device, e.g. EFT terminal, was used later for payment, and this was not clear at the startup.
This new option of a lazy init provides the possibility to define dedicated devices for lazy initialization. This means that during the start of the cash register, all devices configured in this way will not be touched for initialization. Only when the device is really used will it be initialized, and this is also possible via an auto init function. In cases where the device cannot be initialized, the new functionality allows other available devices to be selected. As a result, the operator is quite flexible with regards to connected peripheries and can react to changed circumstances on demand.
NewNow Theme on Customer Display
With this development, the last gap in terms of a uniform UI / consistent look and feel has been closed. The new NewNow theme was already available for the mobile applications on smartphones and tablets as well as the stationary OneX POS. With this adjustment to the customer display, the next application now follows the NewNow theme and thus contributes to a more consistent perception and more uniform customer approach.
Not only were color accents modernized, but adjustments were also made to the layout in order to create a uniform approach with other variants of customer interaction, such as the self-checkout mode (coming soon).
Glory Japan Cash Recycler Integration
The integration of the Japanese cash recycler RT-300/RAD-300 offers the possibility to handle the cash cycle of a store via cash recycler systems. The application interacts with an adapter for each relevant process step. Here, a cash recycler machine acts as a kind of drawer and covers all cash-relevant behaviors.
Integration extends the following functions: Initialization/Close, Cash Payment, Voiding, Goods Return, Inventory and Status, Pickup, Change and Reset.
In addition to the operative functionality, several service functions allow the status and cash balance to be handled.
