 Maintenance Task List

Definition

Describes work to be performed in the form of a list of activities. The activities have capacity requirements for resources and activity relationships.

Use

Caution Caution

All users must be assigned to iPPE user profile S_MSPALL (Maintenance Task List). You can either define a profile for all users in the mySAP SCM – Implementation Guide (under Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Master Data Next navigation step Integrated Product and Process Engineering (iPPE) Next navigation step iPPE Interface Administration Next navigation step Define iPPE User Profiles End of the navigation path ) or for individual users on the SAP Easy Access screen(under Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Master Data Next navigation step Integrated Product and Process Engineering (iPPE) Next navigation step User Assignment: iPPE Workbench End of the navigation path ). For more information, see SAP Note 570861 .

End of the caution.

The Maintenance and Service Planning component has the following types of maintenance task list:

  • Slot task list

You use a slot task list to reserve a service area, which is a critical resource.

  • Check task list

You use a check task list to plan the activities necessary to maintain a maintenance object.

    Note Note

The following documentation describes one way that you can use to create and assign activities to task lists in one step. However, you can also create activities independently and assign them subsequently to the required task lists.

    End of the note.

Check Activity

Service area activity : Reserves the service area for the maintenance tasks. You can create only one service area activity in a slot task list.

Slot activity : Any activity that takes place before or after the maintenance tasks. You can create one or more slot activities in a slot task list.

Check activity : Separate steps in the maintenance task. You can create one or more check activities in a check task list.

Activities have relationships; the default is an end-start relationship, which you can change.

An activity must have at least one mode, but can have many, which are then alternative ways of executing an activity. You can provide priorities for modes, which SAP SCM takes into consideration during planning.

A mode always requires a resource. In a slot task list, the resource is a service area for the service area activity, or a team of maintenance workers or similar for a slot activity. In a check task list, the resource can be a team of maintenance workers or robots to carry out the maintenance task.

You can use existing resources, create resources from the task list, or create resources using the standard SAP SCM master data transaction for resources.

If you create service areas in the slot task list, you cannot use these service areas for data transfer to SAP R/3. We recommend that you use proxy service areas that have been transferred from SAP R/3. For more information, see MSP Data Transfer .

In check task lists, you can also create secondary resources, for example tools, that are needed to carry out a check activity. The location of the secondary resource is the same as the resource.
