 Creating Proxy Service Area Resources

Use

You have to create proxy service area resources for every work center that you transfer from SAP R/3 to SAP SCM.

Prerequisites

You have transferred SAP R/3 work centers to SAP SCM through the SAP R/3 integration model. For more information, see Generating Integration Models .

You have set up the iPPE for maintenance task lists in Customizing. For more information, see the required settings for SAP SCM in Preparatory Activities in SAP SCM .

Your user is assigned to iPPE user profile S_MSPALL .

Procedure

Caution Caution

You cannot use special characters, such as hyphens or underscores, in the names of the proxy service areas.

  1. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Start of the navigation path Advanced Planning and Optimization Next navigation step Master Data Next navigation step Master Data for Maintenance and Service Planning Next navigation step Maintenance Task List End of the navigation path .

  2. In Change mode, choose Create and select the following data:

    Field Name

    User Entry

    Remark

    Application

    Production Resource

    You use this to create a service area resource.

    Type

    Service Area Resource

    Node

    < Name of Proxy Resource >

    Enter a name for the SAP SCM service area resource that corresponds to the required SAP R/3 work center.

    Recommendation Recommendation

    For identification purposes, we recommend you use the same name or a similar name for the SAP SCM proxy service area as used for the SAP R/3 work centers.

    End of the recommendation.

  3. Enter a description.

  4. On the Operating Facilities tab, enter the following data:

    Field Name

    User Entry

    Remark

    Location

    < Location of service area >

    Use value help

    Capacity Planning

    Select

    Resource Type

    Single Activity or Multi-Activity

    Use value help

    Calendar

    Select the required calendar

    Use value help

    Time Zone

    Select the relevant time zone

  1. Repeat the above steps for all of the SAP R/3 work centers that you have transferred to SAP SCM through the SAP R/3 integration model.

  2. Save your entries.
