Administering Application Groups and Model Connections 
The administrator creates application groups and model connections so that users can access the system, obtain certain permissions in the system, and access data in the dimensional model for reports, dashboards, and KPI scoring.
Users who are using the strategy management application are added to a user management system, which is either SAP NetWeaver UME or SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise. For information, see the Server Configuration Guide for SAP BusinessObjects Strategy Management located on SAP Service Marketplace at .
The dimensional model is created.
The administrator creates application groups and assigns reporting permissions, assigns administrative permissions, and assigns the tabs available to the groups. For information, see Application Group Development.
The administrator or a user with Create/Edit Contexts permission creates a context. For information, see Context Development.
The administrator or a user with Create/Edit Contexts permission can assign application groups to the context. For information, see Application Group Assignments.
The administrator creates a model connection. For information, see Model Connection Development.
The administrator or a user with Create/Edit Scorecards permission can link the model connection with the context. For information, see Scorecard Defaults Selection.
The administrator or a user with Create/Edit Scorecards permission can set KPIs, and then set objectives and perspectives for the context. For information, see Standard KPI Development, Objective Selection, Perspective Setting.
The administrator sets system defaults. For information, see System Defaults Selection.
