Order Processing with Approval Groups The following steps describe a sample process in order processing at operation level with approval groups.

If you work with work permits , you must not activate work clearance management at operation level. This means that order processing with approval groups is not possible.
In Customizing for Work Clearance Management you have defined the following:
You have activated work clearance management at operation level in the application profile for the planning plant.
You have grouped approvals in an approval group.
You must assign an approval group to each WCM-relevant operation and valuate it, that is, specify explicitly for each approval whether it is mandatory or not.
As soon as you have assigned an approval group to a WCM-relevant operation, the order is automatically WCM-relevant.
During the valuation the system checks whether you are authorized to valuate the approvals. It also documents who performs the valuation at what time.
You can change a valuation until "Release for execution" (status
EXEC – Released for execution
) is issued for the respective WCM-relevant operation.
As soon as you have valuated all approvals in an approval group, the system sets the status
VAL
(
Valuated
) for all WCM-relevant operations assigned to this approval group.
The valuation is the basis for the "release for execution" of a WCM-relevant operation, that is, the approvals valuated with "Yes" are mandatory.
Activate work clearance management for the order .
The order is now WCM-relevant and the
WCM Operations
(WCM-relevant operations) pushbutton is displayed.
Choose the
WCM Operations
pushbutton.
The dialog box with the WCM-relevant operations appears.
Assign an approval group to each WCM-relevant operation and valuate all approvals in this approval group.
As soon as an approval group is valuated, the system sets the status
VAL
(
Valuated
) for all WCM-relevant operations to which this approval group is assigned.
When you have valuated
all WCM-relevant operations (and all other prerequisites for issuing the "release for execution" are fulfilled), the
Release for Execution
pushbutton appears in the order. You can now set the status
EXEC
(
Released for Execution
) for the WCM-relevant order.
You must do the following for each WCM-relevant operation:
If no approval is required, you can set the status
EXEC
(
Released for Execution
).
If at least one approval is required, you can only set the status
EXEC
when all required approvals are issued.
Perform the work on site.
Confirm the completion of the work with the status
WOCO
(
Work Completed
).
After you have confirmed the completion of the work for
all WCM-relevant operations, the
Work Completed
pushbutton appears in the WCM-relevant order.
Set the status
WOCO
(
Work Completed
) for the WCM-relevant order.
The following figure is a schematic representation of the process described above. You can also see here which statuses are set.
