Lockout/Tagout This process consists of orderly taggingand subsequent untaggingof technical objects, so that work and tests on technical objects can be performed safely.
To create safe conditions before work starts and ensure they remain so during the work on the technical system, you should observe the following five safety rules:
Tag electrically, lock out, or decouple mechanically
Protect against being switched on again
Ensure absence of residual voltage
Earth and short-circuit
Secure adjacent, current-carrying parts
The operational processing of lockout/tagout is described using the operational cycle .
For a lockout/tagout to be performed, shop papers are required for the switchin the asset. On the one hand, you require an operational list , which is a list of the switching operations to be performed individually, and on the other hand, you require operational tags . The operational list and operational tags can be printed out according to the layout specifications of the plant.
Note
Instead of printing an operational list, you can copy it to a mobile end device and process it there.
You can use checks and simulations to ensure that lockout/tagout can be processed safely and free of conflict.
For examples of the process flow, see Order Processing with Valuation and Order Processing Without Valuation .
