Contingent Planning Instead of manually assigning positions to an operational/exercise force element, you can plan contingents on the basis of personnel upper limits and job descriptions.
On the basis of a personnel upper limit defined for each operation/exercise contingent, you can proceed as follows for each force element in the lower-level operational structure or exercise target:
Determine the relevant maximum contingent size .
The planned maximum number of positions is distributed
top-down
, that is, on the basis of the personnel upper limit of a force element, personnel upper limits are defined for the force elements at the next lowest level. The total of these upper limits must not exceed the personnel upper limit of the higher-level force element.
On the basis of the job descriptions, plan how many positions , with which job description, the force element is to have.
The total number of positions must not exceed the relevant personnel upper limit.
You have mapped the required operational structure or exercise target and thereby
Defined contingents with personnel upper limits for the highest-level force element in the operation or exercise
The system has carried out automatic Customizing for contingent planning. The personnel upper limit specified in infotype 1956 has been copied to infotype 1019 and is available for contingent planning.
Assigned the required operational/exercise force elements to the structure on the basis of these contingents
You are familiar with contingent planning in the
Personnel Management
component.
You have created a job catalog. For more information, see the SAP Library for
Organizational Management
under
.
If necessary, you can enhance or change automatic Customizing for contingent planning by making Customizing settings manually .
You distribute the maximum number of positions (personnel upper limit) for the operation or exercise contingents to the respective lower-level force elements, level by level. See also Specifying the Maximum Contingent .
For each force element, you plan, on the basis of the assigned number of positions, the number of positions the force element is to have, and with which job description. You then implement this plan. See also Implementing Contingent Planning .
