 Implementing Contingent Planning

Procedure

You are in the Personnel Organizational Basis application (transaction /ISDFPS/TOEP1). You may have to select an organizational measure before you can process assignments.

Contingent planning for an individual force element
  1. Load the required force element and choose the Contingent Planning tab page.

  2. Select the required contingent and the required planning session.

The maximum contingent size defined for the selected force element is displayed.

  3. Specify how many positions with which job description you want to plan for the selected force element.

    • To do so, enter the number of positions without a job description under Others .

    • To select a job description , choose Add Job to Plan . For the selected job, enter how many positions you want to plan.

If required, you can remove a job from the table by choosing Delete Job from Plan .

  4. Save your data.

  5. You can now convert this plan to planned positions. To do so, choose the Generate Contingent Planning pushbutton.

You can now use report /ISDFPS/HROM_POS_GENERATOR to generate the positions intended for this force element.

  6. Choose the Create New Positions for the relevant row with the generation status Planning Available .

The generated positions are indicated by the generation successful status.

The positions are created with the status Planned .

You can also run the report directly with transaction /ISDFPS/POS_GEN.

Change contingent planning

You can change existing plans as follows:

  • If you carry out planning for a job for which a lower number of positions has already been generated, the existing number is increased to the new number the next time you generate the positions.

  • If you carry out planning for a job for which a higher number of positions has already been generated, the next time you generate the positions the system outputs the message Generation complete; reduction required and prompts you to set the status of one or more existing positions to obsolete . To do so, choose the Execute Reduction function and select the relevant positions. Choose Save to confirm your selections.

A success message is displayed once the required reduction has been carried out.

Contingent planning for several force elements (substructure)

When you choose the Generate Contingent Planning function on the Maximum Contingent Size tab page, you can generate the planned positions for subordinate force elements in addition to the positions for the selected force element.
