Automatic and Manual Customizing for Contingent Planning In order to use contingent planning, you have to define one or more planning sessions in Customizing for the
Personnel Management
component, on the basis of the highest-level force element of an operational structure or exercise target and its contingents.
When an operational structure or exercise target is defined, the system automatically creates the required data for one planning session for each operation or exercise contingent.
If you want to use additional or other planning sessions, you have to add these manually .
This table view maps the Customizing settings for contingent planning:
In the
Maintain Planning Types
section, you store (manually) or the system stores (automatically) the required planning sessions.
In the
Maintain Planning Formations
section, you store (manually) or the system stores (automatically) groups (formations) that you can use to group several planning sessions and assign them to a root (highest-level force element of an operational structure or exercise target).
In the
Customizing Planning
section, you assign (manually) or the system assigns (automatically) several planning sessions to a group, and assign(s) this group to a root.
The assignment is made starting from the planning type, across the formation, through the root.
In the case of automatic Customizing, the following steps are carried out automatically:
Create a planning type
The system assigns the names of the planning type (subtype ID and subtype text).
Create a formation
The descriptions of the formation (short description and long description) are determined on the basis of the contingent key and contingent name.
Assign the planning type to the formation and assign both to the root
The time interval is set to
Fixed Interval
.
The period is determined on the basis of the contingent period.
The
Current Planning
indicator is set for the planning session.
The required evaluation paths are assigned.
If you want to use additional or different planning types, formations, and/or assignments, you can create or make these manually in the table view, as required.
