 Editing Positions

Prerequisites

You are in the Structures Workbench (edit mode). You may have to select an organizational measure before you can process assignments.

Creating and Assigning Positions

  1. In the structure area, select the force element to which you want to assign a new position.

  2. In the selection area, choose Create Position .

  3. Enter the required properties and position characteristics .

  4. On the Object tab page, create an entry for each position that you want to create. You can:

    • enter a short name and a long name without assigning a job

    • first choose a job. Its short name and long name are entered as modifiable default values

  5. On the Relationships tab page, select the required relationship type in the Relationships for field.

  6. Choose Execute and save your changes.

To define the authorized personnel for force elements, you can also use the contingent planning functions.

Copying and Assigning Positions

  1. In the selection area, select the positions that you want to copy.

  2. In the selection area, choose Start of the navigation path Copy Next navigation step Copy Position End of the navigation path .

  3. If required, change your selection in the Copy from screen area and specify how many copies you want to be created for each position selected.

  4. In the Copy with screen area, specify whether you also want job assignments, role assignments, and/or the authorized materials to be copied.

  5. In the Copy to screen area, specify to which force elements you want the copies to be assigned (in the same way as for the creation of positions).

  6. Choose Continue.

  7. Change the names of the new objects as required.

  8. Choose Continue.

    A log containing your changes is displayed.

Deleting/Delimiting Positions

  1. In the selection area, select the relevant position.

  2. Choose Delete Position or Delimit Position .

    If you want to delimit a position, you have to enter a delimitation date.

  3. Save your changes.
