 Operational System

Definition

Logical system responsible for carrying out logistical processes for a force element.

Use

In a distributed system landscape , the data of a force element or organizational structure can be available on multiple systems, that is, it was created on one system and distributed to one or more additional systems.

For each force element, you designate one of these systems as the operational system to specify that the logistical processes are controlled through this system. Only one logical system can be the operational system of a force element at any one time.

Reports are available for the initial definition of the operational system. You can perform a system switch if required.

In addition, the system contains information about system switches planned and already performed.

Structure

Assignments between force elements and logical systems are stored in table /ISDFPS/FORLOSYS :

  • Force Element

Force element to which a logical system is assigned

  • Logical System

    The assigned logical system

  • Logical System Type

Specifies which functions for the force element are currently fulfilled by the assigned system:

    • Active System

This system is the current operational system of the force element.

    • Planned System

This system is the planned (future) operational system of the force element.

    • Former System

This system was the previous operational system of the force element.

    • In Transition

This system was the last operational system of the force element; a system switch has been triggered.

(The additional Application field is used only within the program.)

Integration

Infotype 1984 (logical system) is available for planning the assignment of systems to force elements.

The system can check during the status change whether an operational system is defined for the force element.
