Metrics Management
In Metrics Management
, you can enter key figures (metrics), which you define according to your requirements in Customizing for Metrics Management
, manually or allow them to be calculated by the system. For more information, see Metric.
Note
Metrics can only be calculated for portfolio items and initiatives by means of a link to a key figure definition. You also have to install the key figure monitor in Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management
under .
Calculated metrics cannot be changed on the user interface. The system adjusts the metrics values if you have carried out the following steps:
You have changed the values of the relevant object, for example, the actual costs in financial planning for an initiative.
You have defined a corresponding key figure definition with a report.
You have assigned the key figure definition to a metric and metrics value type.
You can model the logic for the calculation according to your requirements by means of reports. You assign these reports to a key figure definition in Customizing for SAP
Portfolio and Project Management
under .
You can use metrics as part of Decision Flow Management as well as in Project Management and Portfolio Management (see Decision Flow Management (DFM), Project
Management, and Portfolio Management). You can define metrics in Customizing for Metrics Management
for project charters (see Creating
a Project Charter for a Project Definition) as well as in initiatives and portfolio items (see Initiative and Portfolio Item).
You can also define metrics that are item-type-specific or initiative-type-specific.
Metrics can be analyzed in BI reports.
Depending on how you set up Customizing for Metrics Management
, you can display or change values and indicators for metrics on the user interface (see Using Metrics).
