This component delivers process enablement between the PPM-PFM and PPM-PRO components. The key business enabler in this component is the initiative, which provides program management capabilities for both Portfolio and Project Management.

Decision Flow Management supports the process of integrating the strategic Portfolio Management with the operational Project Management. The integration is achieved via the synchronization of attributes, statuses, or authorizations. In addition, program management capabilities for both Portfolio and Project Management are provided via the initiative.

Implementation Considerations

This component is intended to complement the Portfolio Management (PPM-PFM) and Project Management (PPM-PRO) components to support additional program management requirements and related decision flows.

Integration

Both the Portfolio Management (PPM-PFM) and Project Management (PPM-PRO) components are required to support the Decision Flow Management (PPM-CF-DFM).

Features

Program Management is the key business process enabler delivered in this component.

In addition, several services are also provided by this component:

  • Metrics: Enables the configuration of attributes that can be measured in both initiatives and items.

  • Timeline Monitor: Provides portfolio and project timeline views in a Gantt-type visualization.
