Staffing Overview
With this function, you can have an overview for project and role staffing and resource assignment on the fast entry screen.
You can choose the arrow to the left of the project and drill down to view details such as demand, remaining demand, and total assigned effort for each assigned role. Additionally, you can click each assigned resource to display its details. For more information, see Resource Details.
You can also click the project and role names to access detailed information.
Depending on your needs as a resource manager, program manager, or project manager managing several projects, you can save the search criteria for resources and projects as views. To do so, you can toggle between Switch to Favorites
and Switch
to Views
and define and edit your own views.
The resource or staffing manager has the option of either maintaining assignment per resource in the individual periods of the fast entry screen or maintaining this data across a certain time range using distribution. For more information, see Distribution for Resource Management.
The resource manager or staffing manager role is assigned to your user.
If you want to navigate to the fast entry screen by choosing Staffing Overview
in the Services
area, or if you want to save search criteria for resources and projects as views and toggle between favorites and views, you
must have switched on the switch in Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management
under .
To toggle between favorites and views, you have defined the value setting under as RMF or RMV in
Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management
under .
In the header area, you must specify the Unit
field. This allows you to select the time unit in which the assignment for each role is to be made. For more information about the Start

You can also use the following fields or pushbuttons to display and define your projects:

Lists the projects, the roles, and the resource assignments of the role in a hierarchical view. You can use the triangular icon or the You can choose the project name to link to the project details or you can see the following summary information on the overview screen:
For the project, role, and resource you can carry out the following activities by choosing Project The menu of the project displays the unit and the period breakdown of the project. You can only edit the distributed assigned effort for a resource assignment when the unit and period breakdown in the fast entry screen match those of the project. Resource Assignment The assignment can be one of the following:
Depending on the assignment type, the menu offers the following options:

Displays the technical name of the project. |

Checkbox that indicates that this role is distributed (hard-booked). |

Displays the total of the assignment made for the project, role, and resource. |
Periods |
Displays the periods for which the assignment can be made. The duration of the periods corresponds to the period breakdown specified above, that is, month and week. A maximum of eight periods is shown as default. Choose |

Checkbox that indicates that this role is not yet assigned. |
You can perform the following steps:
To open the fast entry screen, choose , then select a project from the list.
To specify one or more of the parameters in the header area, select a date in the Start
or Finish
field and choose Enter
. The date range is applied automatically in the table.
If you also want to change the period or unit, enter the settings and choose Apply
.
When you have finished working with your projects, choose Save
.
