Resource Details
With this function you can enter, change, or delete data in a resource. This can be done in the Portfolio and Project Administration
and Resource Management
contexts.
If you want to use the enhanced resource maintenance, you have activated the user interface setting 0025 Enhanced Resource Availability Maintenance
in Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management
under . This enables you to use a calendar when maintaining the resource status and availability, and to maintain the availability with a daily, weekly or monthly recurrence.
If you want to use capacity assignment, you have made the following settings:
You have activated the master switch 0008 Enhanced Capital and Resource Mgmt Switch (see SAP Note 1457426)
in Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management
under .
You have selected the Capacity Assignment
entry as bucket process for a particular view in Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management
under .
Create a new resource or display the details of an existing resource for editing in the Portfolio and Project Administration
context.
Display the details of the resource by navigating from the Resources
and Staffing
work centers and overviews within the Resource Management
context.
You can enter the following general information when you create a resource:

Bucket Name | Optional | Select the name of the bucket to which the resource is to be given authorization. Choose |
Portfolio Name | Updated by the system | The portfolio is displayed based on the bucket selected above. |
Category | Optional | Select the category that the resource belongs to. |
Subcategory | Optional | Select the subcategory that is dependent on the category selected above. |
Role Function | Optional | Select the role function from the dropdown list. |
Employee ID | Optional | The employee ID that is mapped to the resource. |
User Name | Optional | This is the valid existing user name within the Portfolio and Project Management system to which the resource will be mapped. |
Resource ID | Read-Only | The resource ID is displayed as read-only. |
Cost/Rev. Rate | Optional | This is used to calculate cost or revenue from capacity data. |
The status is used to define whether a resource is active or inactive during a specified time frame. If you have activated the enhanced resource maintenance (see Prerequisites), you can select the start and finish dates of the time frame from a calendar.
This is the geographical location where the resource is available. You can define the following fields:

To | The date until which the resource is available at the specified location. |
Area | The geographic location where the resources exist, for example, Germany. |
Location | This is where the resources are assigned, for example, Office 1, Walldorf. |
You can define the availability of a resource during a specified time frame.
If you have activated the enhanced resource maintenance (see Prerequisites), you can maintain recurring availability in the following ways:
By choosing a calendar, you specify which days are working days or holidays.
You select the type of recurrence, that is, Daily
, Weekly
or Monthly
, and enter the following data:
Start and finish dates of the time frame for which you are maintaining the availability
You can select these dates from a calendar.
The availability of the resource in hours per day
The days of the week or month for which you are maintaining the availability
The number of days, weeks, or months after which the availability recurs
Please note that when saved and displayed, all availability is converted into single events, even though you have maintained them as recurring events.
You can display the buckets to which the resource has been assigned. You can navigate to the bucket or portfolio by choosing a link in the table. For more information, see Bucket Details and Usage of Capacity Planning.
