Bucket Details
You can use this function to view and edit the details of an existing bucket, modify user authorizations, and work with attached objects. You can update the bucket information if you have sufficient write authorization.
To navigate to this screen from Portfolio Management
or from Portfolio and Project Administration
, choose the bucket name.
If you want to use capacity assignment, you must have done the following:

General Information
You can view or change information about the bucket in the fields described below.

Financial and Capacity Information
You can specify the dates and attributes for monitoring the financial and capacity information for all projects at the bucket level. You can modify this for individual items.

Subbuckets
You can view subbuckets that were created with this bucket as the parent. You can choose the subbucket name to view details.
Capacity Assignment
You can assign resources to a bucket by choosing Add Assignment
. Then you choose an entry in the Add Resource By
field (Location, Organizational Unit, Team, Role Function, Resource Name, Resource Pool).
If you have selected a particular view for which you have selected the Capacity Assignment
entry as bucket process in Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management
, you can display the resources by choosing Show
Resources
.
You can derive the financial planning values from the assigned capacity.
You can display the capacity amount mapped to individual view/category/group combinations, that is, the availability in percent and the start or finish date, by choosing Calculate Availability
.
By choosing Calculate Availability
, you can display the capacity amount mapped to individual view/category/group combinations, that is, the availability in percent and the start or finish date, in the Capacity Planning dashboard of the bucket.

The financial amounts are then displayed in the Financial Planning
dashboard in the financial view that you have selected as Capacity Assignment
in Customizing.
To assign capacity to a bucket, you can import Microsoft Excel data by executing the RPM_DX_RES_ASSIGN report. For more information, see Resource Details.
In the Items

views, you can see the objects that are attached to this bucket. You can work with the objects in the same way as in
the work center. In the Documents and Notes
view, you can add and remove documents for this bucket.
Field Service Configuration
You can view or change questionnaires or scoring models for Item Fields
and Initiative Fields
. You can specify the active questionnaires for Decision
Point Fields
. The fields are predefined during the configuration.
Authorizations
Users
You add users and provide appropriate authorization to access the classification hierarchy. The user creating the bucket is automatically added as the default user with administration rights. Buckets, items, and initiatives inherit the users and authorizations from the parent portfolio or parent classification hierarchy.
To add a user, choose Add
or Add Multiple
. Search for the resource to whom you want to provide access.
To remove a user, select the user, then choose Remove
.
By default, newly added users are not assigned any authorization. To provide authorization, select from Admin
, Write
, Read
, Create
, and Person
Responsible
. To display descriptions of each authorization, hold the cursor over the column headers.
User Roles
You can add user roles and provide authorization. All users with this role have authorization to this bucket, and to any buckets, items and initiatives within it. To add a user role, choose Add
or Add Multiple
. Search for the resource
to whom you want to provide access.
Change Documents
If you have activated change documents, you can track all attribute changes. For more information, see Working with Change Documents
