Function documentationBucket Creation

 

With this function, you can create a new bucket object within one of the following objects:

  • Portfolio

  • Classification hierarchy

  • Another bucket

A bucket may contain multiple items or additional buckets. A bucket and an item cannot coexist in the same bucket. Items must be created in the lowest level bucket. For more information about this object type, see Bucket.

Prerequisites

You have either Admin or Create authorization within the parent portfolio.

Activities

  1. You navigate to the Create Bucket screen by choosing Start of the navigation path Portfolio and Project Administration Next navigation step Portfolio Structure End of the navigation path or Start of the navigation path Classification Hierarchies End of the navigation path.

  2. You choose Create

  3. You can then choose where to situate this bucket from the following options:

    • Create Directly Under Portfolio

      The system creates the bucket directly under the portfolio, classification hierarchy, or bucket that is already selected in Portfolio Structure.

    • Select Parent Manually

      You choose the existing bucket within which the system creates the new bucket.

  4. You choose Start.

  5. You enter the required data in the Overview, Documents and Notes, and Miscellaneous views and the respective subviews. You can also change the creation parameters, such as Create Directly Under Portfolio or Select Parent Manually.

  6. You save your settings.

    Note Note

    Some views and subviews are not visible during bucket creation. For example, the Item view or the Templates view are only visible once you have saved the bucket.
