Translator Profiles

A translator profile is a group of special authorizations for activities that are relevant for translation. Translator profiles are assigned to users in transaction LXE_MASTER, and determine which translation activities these users are authorized to perform. This is an overview of profiles that are relevent to working in the proposal pool:

Translator profiles enable you to determine, among other things, which quality statuses translators are authorized to assign to proposals in the proposal pool . This enables you to ensure, for example, that only coordinators and experienced translators can assign a quality status that is high enough for automatic distribution . If you use the Distribute Proposals function while translating in the short text editor , you must specify the quality status as of which the system copies proposals into the translation lines automatically. The translator profile determines which quality status you can select at this point. Only users with the profile XX or XT can distribute proposals with the lowest quality status X . If you perform an evaluation with automatic distribution, the quality statuses assigned to the proposals when the translators create them determine which proposals can be distributed into translation lines automatically by the system.
