Handling-Unit Stock List
In Transit Warehousing, you can use the handling-unit stock list (HU stock list) to perform floor checks, monitor clarification zones, and query specific HUs. You can search for HUs based on search criteria, for example, storage bin, forwarding order, or consignee. The system then displays the HU in the HU stock list and you can view HU details such as partner details, reference documents, and status information. You can also access partner details and certain reference documents, for example, you can access and edit freight orders. For more information about freight orders, see Processing of Freight Orders.
To access the HU stock list, in SAP NetWeaver Business Client choose .
You have made the settings necessary for working in Transit Warehousing. For more information, see Prerequisites for Transit Warehousing.
Perform floor checks.
HUs arrive into a transit warehouse and are usually transported out of the warehouse again on the same day. Therefore, you would expect the staging area of a transit warehouse to be clear of HUs at the end of the day. However, as issues may arise that lead to HUs not being transported out of the warehouse, you can perform a visual floor check. A floor check ensures that only the HUs that are expected in the staging area are in the staging area. Based on the floor check, you can do the following:
Indicate the HUs that are lost because they are not physically in the warehouse.
Enter into the system the HUs that you unexpectedly found in the staging area.
You can also indicate lost and found HUs using a radio frequency presentation device. For more information, see Floor Check in Transit Warehouse.
Search for HUs.
You can search for HUs for ad hoc queries, for example, for the HUs for a particular forwarding order or consignee.
Check HUs in clarification zones.
You can check the HUs in a clarification zone and then process them as relevant, for example, indicate that they are clarified or damaged. Once you clarify the issue or gather information on the damage, you can then move the HUs out of the clarification zone. You can also access the freight order to make changes, including dangerous goods information.
To check the HUs in a clarification zone, in the search criteria of the HU stock list, enter the clarification zone as the storage type.
Process HUs.
Using the HU stock list, you can process HUs in the following ways:
Indicate that a HU needs to be clarified or that it does not need to be clarified.
You can also create warehouse tasks automatically or manually at the same time to either move a HU to the clarification zone or to move a HU out of the clarification zone after clarification.
Indicate that a HU is damaged or not damaged.
Indicate that the unloading of an incoming HU container is expected or not expected.
Based on this, the putaway strategy can decide whether or not to direct a HU container to unloading.
Create and cancel warehouse tasks.
When creating warehouse tasks, you can specify destination data or allow the system to decide based on the putaway strategy. For more information about the putaway strategy for transit warehousing, see Destination Storage Bin Determination in Transit Warehousing.
Print HU labels.
Use side panels.
You can use side panels to display additional context information on demand. The side panel content can be enhanced and adjusted with minimal effort to suit your needs. For more information, see Side Panels in Transit Warehousing.
