Creating Templates
To change the pool of templates for rooms and room parts to suit your company-specific requirements, you can create new templates alongside the SAP standard template. You can create a template in the following ways:
|
Creation Option |
Description |
Copy and edit an existing template |
If an SAP standard template approximately matches your company-specific requirements, but requires minor changes, you can copy the standard template and change the copy. When saving the copy of a template, the system also creates a copy of the workset assigned with the name of the new template. To modify the structure of the rooms for the new template, you change the workset accordingly. |
Create a new template |
If the room structure or room part structure and the template definition have to comply with special company-specific requirements, you can create a completely new template with a workset specifically structured for it. |
● The settings for rooms have been changed to suit your company-specific requirements.
● You have planned modifications to an existing template or creation of a new template in accordance with the concept for room templates.
● If you want to create a new template, you have planned the structure of the rooms and made available a corresponding workset.

If you are modifying a copy of a template to suit your company’s requirements, you can change the associated workset after saving the new template.
See: Defining the Structure of Rooms
● Your portal role (Content Administration) has write permission for the com.sap.ip.collaboration PCD folder.
