Creating a Business Partner Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Prerequisite

You have entered all required employee data. For more information, see Maintaining Employee Details.

Procedure

  1. Access the Business Partner tile by choosing:

    Business Partners ® Details

  3. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
  4. On the Business Partner tile, enter the required data.

    Name for internal use and faster identification of the business partner

    Optional

    Enter a name that is easy to remember, up to a maximum of ten characters

    Also used in CRM Online

    Partner No.

    Unique number assigned to the business partner

     

    You cannot make any entries in this field.

    After you save the business partner, the data is uploaded to CRM Online, where a unique number is assigned to the business partner. Each subsequent time you access this business partner's details, you can see the partner number in this field.

    Name

    Name of company as it appears, for example, on quotations and orders

    Required/Optional

     

    There are four fields for the name. An entry is required in the first field, but is optional in the others.

    Country

     

    Default entry: your (that is, the user's) country (if this information has been entered in the employee details. For more information, see Maintaining Employee Details.)

    To change the country, make a selection from the dropdown list.

     

     

    Note

    You must enter the standard address, or at least the country or city. Otherwise, you cannot save a business partner.

    Enter other data as necessary.

    Note

    In the Business Partners/Details tile set, if the Mailing flag is set for a business partner, then the business partner will receive e-mail generated for a campaign or trade promotion. For more information, see Processing a Target Header.

  6. Save the business partner.
