Mass Generation 

Purpose

You follow this process to generate one or more opportunities or activities for each member of a target group or for a planning customer. Within this process, you can also assign the opportunities or activities to specific employees. This saves you the task of creating a separate opportunity or activity for each business partner or contact person.

Prerequisites

You have generated a target group or you have assigned a planning customer to your trade promotion. See Generating a Target Group or Basic Data in Trade Promotions.

If you want to mass generate activities that are assigned to a campaign or trade promotion opportunity, you have already mass generated the opportunity.

Process Flow

       1.      You create an opportunity template or activity template. See Opportunity Template for Mass Generation or Activity Template for Mass Generation.

       2.      You define the criteria for determining the persons responsible for the opportunities or activities once they have been generated. See Defining Persons Responsible.

       3.      You start mass generation in the Marketing/Opportunity Templates tile set, or the Marketing/Activity Template tile set, and select a target group. For trade promotions, you have the option of selecting either a target group or a planning customer.

       4.      The system checks whether or not opportunities or activities have already been mass generated for each business partner and contact person in the selected group.

Each opportunity or activity can be mass generated only once for each business partner or contact person for each campaign or trade promotion.

       5.      The system identifies each business partner or contact person assigned to the campaign or trade promotion, and generates an opportunity or activity for each of them using the template.

       6.      The system assigns the persons responsible for each opportunity or activity using the Determination of Persons Responsible function, according to the criteria you specified in step 1.

Result

You can view a list of all generated opportunities in the Marketing/Opportunities tile set, and the details of each opportunity in the Opportunities/Details tile set.
