Procedure documentation Creating a Curriculum  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Prerequisites

You have created the curriculum type

Procedure

...

       1.      On the SAP Easy Access screen, in the SAP Menu choose Human Resources ® SAP Learning Solution ® Courses ® Dates ® Planning Menu.

       2.      Select the curriculum type for which you want to create a curriculum.

       3.      Choose Planning ® Create, or choose Create Curriculum from the context menu.

The Create Curriculum screen appears.

       4.      Enter the period when the curriculum should take place.

Note

The period you select restricts the number of courses offered for the individual curriculum type elements.

You can change the period at any time providing that all courses in the curriculum fall in this period.

       5.      From the table Next Course – Course Type, select the course type whose courses should be used for the next curriculum element.

Note

To update the entries in the table Next Course – Course type, choose Update or double-click the selection.

       6.      Select at least one course from the table Next Course – Course Type.

Note

You can restrict the number of courses offered by specifying a language or a location.
You can increase the overall capacity of the curriculum by selecting multiple courses.
The SAP system displays the courses that are possible for this period in the table Next Course – Course. Depending on the period, the table might not contain any entries. In this case, no course exists for the specified language or selected location. Change the language and/or location.

The selection of courses on offer is also affected by the courses offered in previous positions of the curriculum. The start date for which a course can be offered for selection depends on the end date of the preceding course. If, for example, you select a course that is scheduled a long time in the future, the SAP system searches for a follow-up course on dates that lie further in the future. If the system is unable to find a course that occurs in the future, the curriculum is incomplete and/or inconsistent and cannot be created. In this instance, you must remove the courses that are scheduled too far in the future and choose alternative courses scheduled earlier. In this way, you will be able you to create the whole curriculum.

In addition to delivery methods, for which a start and end date is fixed, such as classroom training, the curriculum also supports Web-based delivery methods that have a fixed start and end date. You can specify a start and end date for such courses in the table Next Course – Course. The start and end date is checked against the conditions specified in the Completion Specifications (5008) infotype for course type.

       7.      To transfer the selected courses to the course sequence of the curriculum, choose Next.

Note

You can change the course sequence you have selected by deleting the courses you added last. To do this, select the last course type from the table Course Sequence.  Delete this entry from the course sequence by choosing Back. Alternatively, you can delete the course type from the course sequence by double-clicking on the course type. The SAP system then displays this course type in the table of course types from which you must still select courses.

       8.      Repeat steps 5 to 7 until you have selected curriculum elements for each curriculum type element.

       9.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Save.

Caution

You can only save the curriculum as active after all courses have been entered in the curriculum for all course types in the curriculum type.
