The setup of Component-Based Test Automation (CBTA) and Business Process Change Analyzer (BPCA) takes place in SAP Solution Manager Configuration (transaction SOLMAN_SETUP), under Test Management. For more information, see Configuration of Test Management and follow the instructions in the steps of the guided procedures.

The Administration view of the Test Management work center gives you expert access to Customizing for SAP Solution Manager Test Management and BPCA. If you need documentation, follow the navigation path to the customizing activity.

Features

Test Management with SAP Solution Manager Subview

To define settings for the test management in SAP Solution Manager, choose the SAP Solution Manager radio button in the Administration view. Here, you have the following tabs and activities:

  • Test Management Preparation tab:

    • Define statuses for test cases: Customize the statuses a tester can assign to a test case during test execution.

    • Define templates for test documentation (notes and test results): Upload a custom Microsoft Word template, for test notes and results, to allow testers to create a note or a test result using the template when executing a manual test case.

    • Define the smart form settings for test case execution: Define which e-mail forms to use for testing and test errors.

    • Define the default execution times required for test case types: Maintain the time taken for each test case type.

    • Define the test classifications: Define test categories, for example, unit test, functional test, integration test, user acceptance test, regression test.   • Test Automation Framework tab:

    • Define the attributes of the test tool for test scripts: Register test tool-specific attributes to be transferred to the tool during test script recording.

    • Define the connection and user credentials for systems under test: Create a test profile with logon data for SUTs, so you do not have to define a separate RFC destination for each business user of your test.

  • CBTA tab:

    • Maintain the CBTA client settings: Configure the CBTA (component-based test automation) client that you have installed locally.

    • Customize the runtime library for CBTA: Enhance CBTA with custom functions, for example recording or playing a test with Adobe Flash technology or Java applets.

    • Perform self-checks for the CBTA tool and systems under test: Verify the correct installation and configuration of the CBTA client.

BPCA Subview

To define settings for Business Process Change Analyzer (BPCA), choose the BPCA radio button in the Administration view. Here, you have the following tabs and activities:

  • BPCA Preparation tab:

    • Using the TBOM utilities to mass-generate semi-dynamic or static TBOMs, and identify and delete obsolete TBOMs:

    • Maintain TBOM filter table: To optimize business process change analyses by ignoring irrelevant objects in TBOMs, define filters. For more information, see Editing TBOM Filters.

    • Maintain TBOM criticality table, to be able to adjust a test scope and optimization sequence according to it. For more information, see Editing the TBOM Criticality.
