The setup of Component-Based Test Automation (CBTA) and Business Process Change Analyzer (BPCA) takes place in SAP Solution Manager Configuration
(transaction SOLMAN_SETUP), under Test Management
. For more information, see Configuration of Test Management and follow the instructions in the steps of the guided procedures.
The Administration
view of the Test Management
work center gives you expert access to Customizing for SAP Solution Manager Test Management and BPCA. If you need documentation, follow the navigation path to the customizing activity.
To define settings for the test management in SAP Solution Manager, choose the SAP Solution Manager
radio button in the Administration
view. Here, you have the following tabs and activities:
Test Management Preparation
tab:
Define statuses for test cases
: Customize the statuses a tester can assign to a test case during test execution.
For more information, see the instructions in Customizing for SAP Solution Manager under
.Define templates for test documentation (notes and test results): Upload a custom Microsoft Word template, for test notes and results, to allow testers to create a note or a test result using the template when executing a manual test case.
For more information, see the instructions in Customizing for SAP Solution Manager under
.Define the smart form settings for test case execution: Define which e-mail forms to use for testing and test errors.
For more information, see the instructions in Customizing for SAP Solution Manager under
.For more information about customizing the SAP-delivered templates, see Editing Templates for Notification E-Mails.
For more information about allowing users to receive notification e-mails, see Registering a User for Receiving Notification E-mails.
Define automatic recording of test effort for manual test cases: Record the time it takes to test manual test cases.
For more information, see the instructions in Customizing for SAP Solution Manager under
.Define the default execution times required for test case types: Maintain the time taken for each test case type.
For more information, see the instructions in Customizing for SAP Solution Manager under
.Define the test classifications: Define test categories, for example, unit test, functional test, integration test, user acceptance test, regression test. For more information, see the instructions in the customizing for SAP Solution Manager, under
.Test Automation Framework
tab:
Define the attributes of the test tool for test scripts: Register test tool-specific attributes to be transferred to the tool during test script recording.
For more information, see the instructions in Customizing for SAP Solution Manager under
.For more information, see Maintaining Attributes.
Define the connection and user credentials for systems under test: Create a test profile with logon data for SUTs, so you do not have to define a separate RFC destination for each business user of your test.
For more information, see the customizing for SAP Solution Manager under
.For more information, see SUT Management.
CBTA
tab:
Maintain the CBTA client settings: Configure the CBTA (component-based test automation) client that you have installed locally.
For more information, see the instructions in Customizing for SAP Solution Manager under
.Customize the runtime library for CBTA: Enhance CBTA with custom functions, for example recording or playing a test with Adobe Flash technology or Java applets.
For more information, see the instructions in Customizing for SAP Solution Manager under
.Perform self-checks for the CBTA tool and systems under test: Verify the correct installation and configuration of the CBTA client.
For more information see the instructions in Customizing for SAP Solution Manager under
.To define settings for Business Process Change Analyzer (BPCA), choose the BPCA
radio button in the Administration
view. Here, you have the following tabs and activities:
BPCA Preparation
tab:
Using the TBOM utilities to mass-generate semi-dynamic or static TBOMs, and identify and delete obsolete TBOMs:
Perform BPCA Self-Checks
To generate semi-dynamic TBOMS, ensure that Usage and Procedure Logging (UPL) data is generated in the system and can be retrieved. For more information, see Checking the Prerequisites for Generating Semi-Dynamic TBOMs.
Generate TBOMs
Create semi-dynamic or static TBOMs for the executable entities in your executable library. For more information, see Creating Semi-Dynamic or Static TBOMs.
Perform Obsolescence Checks
Identify potentially obsolete TBOMS. For more information, see Scheduling Obsolescence Checks.
Delete TBOMs
Delete obsolete TBOMs from one or more solutions. For more information, see Mass-Deleting TBOMs.
Maintain TBOM filter table: To optimize business process change analyses by ignoring irrelevant objects in TBOMs, define filters. For more information, see Editing TBOM Filters.
Maintain TBOM criticality table, to be able to adjust a test scope and optimization sequence according to it. For more information, see Editing the TBOM Criticality.
BPCA Test Scope Optimization
tab page:
Define the default times to create test cases, depending on the test case types. For more information, see Specifying Default Test Case Creation Times.
Define the default times to execute test cases, depending on the test case types. For more information, see Specifying Default Test Case Execution Times.
Excluding objects from the test scope optimization, to test them in their node contexts. For more information, see Excluding Objects from the Optimization.
