Procedure documentationExcluding Objects from the Optimization

The system optimizes the test scope under the assumption that an object has been completely tested when it has been tested at least once, so even if an object is used in several business processes, testing one node in the solution documentation is sufficient for the optimization strategy “test each object once only”. If you want to test some objects in their node contexts, exclude them from the optimization strategy.

Procedure

To perform the activity, you have the following options:

  • As an experienced user, do the following:

    1. In the Test Management work center, choose Administration.

    2. In the BPCA view, choose Start of the navigation path BPCA Test Scope Optimization Next navigation step Specify Test Scope Optimization Exemptions End of the navigation path.

  • If you need detailed information about how to perform the activity, do the following:

    1. In Customizing for SAP Solution Manager, choose Start of the navigation path SAP Solution Manager Next navigation step Capabilities Next navigation step Test Management Next navigation step Business Process Change Analyzer Next navigation step Administration End of the navigation path.

    2. To perform the Specify Test Scope Optimization Exemptions activity, display the corresponding IMG activity documentation.

Result

If you have excluded an object from the optimization strategy and the object is simultaneously present in multiple nodes in the business process strategy, the system handles the object separately in each node. To achieve test coverage of 100%, you must therefore add all nodes that contain the object, to the test scope.

If multiple nodes that use such an object are not yet in the test scope, the object is displayed multiple times under Objects Not in Test Scope. If you select the object at least once and choose the Put in Test Scope function, the system automatically adds all nodes that use the object.
