Procedure documentationRegistering a User for Notification E-Mails

 

Testers can receive notification e-mails about the execution of test cases and the test results.

Notification e-mails are sent if the test execution is finished or if an error occurs during execution. Only the first error triggers a notification e-mail)

To receive notification e-mails, the following users must be registered:

  • user who execute test cases or submit the job

  • test plan responsible

  • test package responsible

  • tester assigned to a test package or to a test case

Typically, the role tester is assigned to these users who execute the test.

Prerequisites

  • You have authorization as an administrator.

  • A valid e-mail address is assigned to the technical user.

Procedure

  1. Call transaction SU01.

  2. Select the user.

    You go to the Display User screen.

  3. Choose Display/Change.

  4. Choose the Parameters tab page.

  5. Add Parameter AGS_SMT_NOTIFICATION.

  6. Enter parameter values depending on the role of the user in the test management. The attribute value has four character positions.

    • If the user is not assigned to a test package or a test case, enter an X on the first position. The user is notified each time the user executes the test.

    • If the user is the test plan responsible, enter a blank on the first position and an X on the second position. The test plan owner is notified each time someone executes a test from a test plan which is assigned to the responsible person.

    • If the user is the test package responsible, enter blanks on the first and second position and an X on the third position. The responsible is notified each time someone executes a test from the responsible's test package.

    • If the user is a tester assigned to a test package or a test case, enter blanks on the first, second, and third position and an X on the fourth position.

      The tester is notified about executed test cases if he assigned to the test package.

  7. Save and close the window.
