Releasing a Service

Releasing the service triggers a status change. The status change indicates that both service performance and service documentation are completed, and changes are only possible within a restricted period of time.

The institution-related, time-independent system parameter N1QUTIME determines the number of days following service release within which the service documentation can be changed.

You can release services which have the status Confirmed Requested, Scheduled, or Performed.

Released services are actual services in SAP Patient Management (IS-H) and are available in subsequent IS-H processes (patient billing, transfer to CO etc.).

Procedure

In the clinical work station you can release services in the Outpatient Clinic/Service Facility and Medication Events/Inpatient Nursing Services view types. However, the service release is also integrated into other functions such as, for example, the cycle report or surgery monitor.

Select the services concerned and select, for example in a view of the Outpatient Clinic/Service Facility view type of the clinical work station, Release Service.
Each released service must have a movement reference. No movement reference is created if you select services with the Confirmed Requested status. The system creates the movement reference according to the organizational unit-related (OU) parameter N1BWERB for the performing organizational unit (OU).

The Release Service dialog box appears.
In the Release Service dialog box the system presets all data, such as the performing OU, the employee responsible, or the service time.

You can change the preset data. If you change the performing OU you can choose from the organizational units which have the relevant service in their range and can therefore perform the service.

Note

If you wish to perform services which are flagged as requestable but not performable in the service master, the system will branch directly to Replacing Services.

Choose (Continue) to change the service status.
The system generates any assigned procedures when the service is released.

If you release a cycle master service, you automatically access the cycle report.

Note

If the localization is flagged as obligatory on the Other tab page in the service master of a service, the system checks whether the localization has been entered when the service is released. If the localization is missing, the system displays an error message and prevents the generation of procedures and the service release. You must then subsequently enter the localization for this service.

Each time services are performed and released the system checks whether the visit can be completed. A visit can only be completed when all assigned services have Performed or Released status. Canceled or replaced services are not taken into account.

Exception: Visits, which are part of a treatment sequence, are completed in the clinical work station using the Define Treatment function.

Result

The system sets the services to Released status.

The service release completes the service documentation and changes the status of the services for IS-H to actual services, so that they are available in subsequent IS-H processes.
