If you create documentation for an examination, treatment or surgery as well as services and case-related or service-related procedures, you can use the following options:

  • Procedures can be generated from services (case-related or service-related)

    You can assign procedures, which result when a service is replaced, to the original service. The system will generate procedures with a service reference.

  • For manual entry, call the case-related procedure entry function on the work stations of the clinical system (i.s.h.med). Note that it is not possible to enter service-related procedures here.

If the localization is flagged as obligatory on the Other tab page in the service master of a procedure, the system checks, when generating procedures, whether a localization has been entered. If the localization is missing, the system displays an error message and prevents the generation of procedures and the service release. You must then subsequently enter the localization for this procedure.

Prerequisites

For generating procedures for services or for the case enter the following master data:

  • Create procedures in the master data as services.

    The catalog in which you will enter the procedures is insignificant for generating procedures. Despite this, you should enter all procedures in the same catalog.

  • Assign the corresponding procedures to the performable services from the hospital service catalog using service groups.

    You must store the assignment type you will use for the assignment in the system parameter N1HKLICP. The system supports only single-level assignments, which means that all procedures to be generated must be linearly assigned to each service.

    You create service groups on the SAP Easy Access screen by choosing Start of the navigation path Clinical System Next navigation step Basic Clinical Data Next navigation step Service Management Next navigation step Clinical Service Master Next navigation step Service Group Next navigation step Maintain End of the navigation path.

    The assigned procedures must be from the catalog that you stored in the system parameter OP_TARIF.

  • You can also use the assignment of surgery codes to services for entering the assignment.

    A prerequisite for this is that you have defined the assignment type with the maintenance indicator C (conversion) and you have additionally entered the assignment type into the system parameter OPZOTYP.

Features

The system will generate the procedures automatically, without your interaction, with the following actions:

  • Releasing schedules (ordered or requested) services

  • Entering services with Released status

  • Releasing non-performable services (replacing with the Released target status)

    Note Note

    The system will save case-related procedures with a case reference, but without a movement reference. The system saves service-related procedures with a reference to the service and to the movement. For each procedure generated, the system enters a time when the release or creation of the service was entered. Each generated procedure is indicated as the main code and combined with the performing organizational unit (OU) and the requesting department of the service.

Activities

In case-related procedure entry you can process the generated procedures (i.e. display, change, cancel).

Generating procedures when entering or releasing services enables procedure documentation without any extra user effort, but which requires comprehensive definitions in the master data.

If these master data definitions do not exist or are not possible, you can call case-related procedure entry in the following work stations:

  • Care unit work station:

    Occupancy, Arrivals, Departures view types of the clinical work station.

  • Outpatient clinic/service facility work station

    Outpatient Clinic/Service Facility view type of the clinical work station

    Caution Caution

    If you select a service and call the procedure entry function, the calling program will determine the movement to which the service is assigned and switch with this movement into the procedure entry function.

    If the selected service is a requested service which is assigned to the admission movement or the first outpatient visit when performing or releasing this, the procedure entry function will use this admission movement or the first outpatient visit for presetting the procedures to be entered. This has the same effect as when the user calls the procedure entry function via the initial screen and selects the admission movement in the case list.

    To correctly preset the procedures in the procedure entry, we recommend that you always generate an outpatient visit when performing and releasing services (see Organizational Unit-Related Parameter N1BWERB).

If you cancel procedures from case-related procedure entry, you will receive a selection of all procedures that are saved for the current case and the corresponding day, which were entered when the service was released, when you enter the cancellation reason. In this selection, you can select procedures, and if you then confirm the dialog window, you will cancel the procedures.

Retroactively Generating Procedures

You can also retroactively generate case-related or service-related procedures. For this, you use report RN1GEN_LEI_ICPM.

This report determines all released services for a specific period and also optionally specific performing (OUs) and then generates procedures for these services using the same process as that used for releasing/entering services.

Note Note

You can execute the report in test mode that determines and displays all of the procedures to generate, but does not save these.

You can run this report more than once. The system will recognize whether procedures have been generated for a released/entered service. If at least one procedure is found for the service, then no procedure will be regenerated for the service.
