Organizational Unit-Related Parameters Services
With these settings related to the organizational unit (OU) system administration can influence the functionality of the service management.
You use the following organizational unit-related parameters (OU parameters) to make settings for service management.
You define the corresponding OU parameters on the SAP Easy Access
screen by choosing .
You use this parameter to control for service entry, how the requesting departmental OU of the service should be preset for service entry.
X:
In an inpatient or day patient case the system presets the requesting departmental OU with the department of the patient.
In an outpatient case the system presets the requesting departmental OU with the department of the first movement (standard value).
Space:
In inpatient and outpatient cases the system presets the requesting departmental OU using the department of the requesting nursing OU (process-organizational hierarchy).
Fixed OU:
In inpatient or outpatient cases the system presets the requesting departmental OU with the department entered as the parameter value.
The system checks the parameter value for the OU of the object that the user selects in a list (e.g. service-performing OU of a service, treatment OU of visit, etc.).
You can use this parameter to control which OU should be saved as the requesting nursing OU for a service.
Note
The parameter applies for the request, service entry, subsequent service entry and the medical service entry (SAP Ambulatory Care Management and Outpatient Clinic/Service Facility
view type).
X:
In an inpatient case the system enters the care unit where the patient’s bed is as the requesting nursing OU for the service.
In an outpatient case the system enters the OU of the first movement as the requesting nursing OU for the service (standard value).
Space:
When creating a request/request profile the system enters the OU with which the user creating the request is working as the requesting nursing OU for the service.
Fixed OU:
The system enters the OU specified in the parameter value as the requesting nursing OU for the service. The system enters the department of this OU as the requesting departmental OU for the service.
The system checks the parameter value for the OU of the object that the user selects in a list (e.g. service-performing OU of a service, treatment OU of visit, etc.).
With this parameter you preset the time for the service performance (perform or release service). This parameter is also valid for the implicit replacement of a service when performing or releasing. The original (replaced) service and the services resulting from the replacement are set to the same time.
The following presettings are possible:
L: Service time
The original time of the service is retained for the service performance (standard value).
If you use the Nursing module, the parameter should contain this value for the nursing OU.
S: System time
The original time is replaced by the system time during performance or release.
Note
If a time in the future is entered when performing or releasing a service, the time for the service performance is replaced by the system time regardless of the parameter value.
The system will check the parameter for the performing OU of the service.
You use this parameter to control how the movement reference is created if a service with no movement reference is performed or released (Confirmed Requested status).
If a service is already scheduled and therefore already has a movement reference, this parameter is not relevant. The created movement reference is retained.
Space:
Once you have entered the service performance data, such as the performing OU and the time of service performance, you access the movement overview. You can select a movement or create a new visit (standard value).
K: Short method
For the services the system creates the movement reference to the first movement of the outpatient case or to the admission or transfer movement.
We recommend the use of this function if the Movement object is only of secondary importance in your workflow.
I: Implicit method
If a service without a movement reference is performed and therefore requires a movement reference the system checks, once the performing OU has been entered, whether the patient already has a visit to this OU on that day. If the patient already has a visit in this OU on that day, the system assigns the service to this visit. Otherwise, the system creates a new outpatient visit to this OU.
The system will check the parameter value for the performing organizational unit.
You use this parameter to determine that, when the last service of a visit is performed or released, the visit status of the visit and any connect appointment is automatically set to Completed, providing no treatment sequence exists. The implicit modification of the visit status is only possible if no treatment sequences are used at the performing OU.
Possible parameter values are:
Space: Do not complete visit (standard value)
X: Complete visit
Note
You can only use this parameter for organizational units where no treatment sequences are used.
The system will check the parameter value for the treatment organizational unit.
You use this parameter to determine whether, during the implicit creation of outpatient visits during service performance, the class of the patient should be copied from the admission or last transfer movement into the visit.
The parameter consists of 4 digits in which you determine for each case type whether the class of the patient should be copied during the implicit creation of an outpatient visit.
1st digit: Inpatient cases
2nd digit: Outpatient cases
3rd digit: Day Patient Cases
4th digit: Always remains empty
If an 'X’ is entered for one of these positions the class should be copied for this case type, for example, “XX__” means that the class should be transferred for inpatient and outpatient cases.
The system will check the parameter for the performing organizational unit.
When deregistering a patient the system checks whether planned services (not performed, released, or canceled) services still exist for the outpatient visit.
If planned services still exist, you can choose from the following procedures:
1: Service Entry
You access the service entry function to release the services (standard value).
2: Error message
You receive an error message and the patient cannot be deregistered.
3: Service release
The system automatically releases services which have not yet been released.
4: No check
The system performs no check. You can deregister the patient, although un-released services still exist.
The system will check the parameter for the OU at which the current outpatient visit is entered and therefore the patient is in treatment.
When forwarding a patient the system checks whether planned services (not performed, released, or canceled) services still exist for the outpatient visit.
If planned services still exist, you can choose from the following procedures:
1: Service Entry
You access the service entry function to release the services (standard value).
2: Error message
You receive an error message and cannot forward the patient.
3: Service release
The system automatically releases services which have not yet been released.
4: No check
The system performs no check. You can forward the patient, although un-released services still exist.
The system will check the parameter for the organizational unit at which the current outpatient visit is entered and therefore the patient is in treatment.
You use this parameter to control whether the system displays the Presettings for Service Performance
dialog box in (subsequent) service entry.
The following parameter values are possible:
Space: You do not access the dialog box (standard value).
X: You access the dialog box.
In nursing support, the system will automatically fill the OUs. You therefore set the parameter value for all care units which work with nursing support, to Space.
This parameter controls whether the system displays the Presettings for Service Performance
dialog box in subsequent service entry.
The following parameter values are possible:
Space: You do not access the dialog box (standard value).
X: You access the dialog box.
The parameter will only be used in the subsequent service function and only has an effect if the OU parameter N1LSANPU
is not maintained.
You use this parameter to control the system behavior when a service is entered in the subsequent service entry function and the system checks and determines that the current case already has a service with the same code, same date, and same time.
The following parameter values are possible:
Space: The system will create a new service (standard value).
X: The system changes the status of the already entered service to Performed or Released.
User parameter MLS
determines whether the system sets the service to Performed or Released.
Example
The user requests the Plaster Cast Check
service in the Check-Up
OU for a specific patient as case-related.
On the day of the plaster check the user enters the Plaster Cast Check
service using the subsequent service entry function. As this service already exists as a request for this patient, the system will not create a new service, but will release the requested service.
The system will check the parameter for the performing organizational unit of the service.
You can use this parameter to define whether the Enhancing Text Column
is available and ready for input when replacing services.
Possible parameter values are:
Space: The user cannot enter enhancing text (standard value).
X: The user can enter enhancing text.
The system will check the parameter value for the performing organizational unit.
When replacing a service the system offer input help containing the services which are assigned to the service to be replaced as a group. This group can also contain group services, resulting in a hierarchy with several potential levels.
You use this parameter to control the level up to which the service hierarchy should be displayed in opened form. The user can manually open and close group services in order to display and hide additional levels.
Possible parameter values are:
F: All levels open (standard value)
0: Display service selection on highest level only (not opened)
1-9: Number of levels to be opened
The system will check the parameter value for the performing OU of the service to be replaced.
You can use this parameter to control whether the appointment entry function or the planning grid should be called when planning appointments.
Space: Call appointment entry
If you change the service appointments, the data of the outpatient visit is only changed if no other dependent objects exist (medical records, documents, other services, etc.) (standard value).
P: Planning Grid
The system will check the parameter value for the planning organizational unit.
You use this parameter to control whether the system should check the validity of the combination of requesting nursing and requesting departmental organizational units for the following functions:
Service Entry
Subsequent Service Entry
Diagnosis and Service Quick Entry
The following values are available:
"W" (Warning) : OU combination is invalid. The warning message can be skipped.
"E" (Error) : OU combination is invalid. It is not possible to skip this error message. You must correct the entered value.
