Definition of Budget Structure with BS TemplatesDefining a budget structure using commitment item groups supports a clear and quick way of allocating budget for:
Central budgeting
Local budgeting
Mixture of central and local budgeting
BS templates must be created
You are not allowed to have created any budget objects or posting objects by defining a budget structure with individual objects.
In this step, you define the number of BS template and the commitment items contained in them with their appropriate object function.
In this step, you assign an existing BS template to the appropriate funds centers.
Note that you must set the indicator
Use BS Templates
for the definition of a budget structure with BS template.
The system generates the budget objects and posting objects for all commitment items contained in the commitment item groups in the respective funds centers. In budget allocation, the budget hierarchy is then set up according to this budget structure definition.
You should not execute this program if your valid BS already has budget values. Changing the BS can cause inconsistencies in the budget data.
If you execute the program and make changes to a valid BS with budget data, you must reconstruct the distributed and assigned values afterwards. You can find more information on these programs under Reconstructing Distributed Values and Reconstructing Assigned Values .
I there are inconsistencies in the budget data, you can remove them in two ways:
You use program Reconstruction of Distributed Values (BPDIST01) to reconstruct distributed values. You must adjust the budget values manually afterwards and execute the program for reconstructing the assigned values.
Reconstruct the budget values using program Reconstruction of Budget Values (BPDIST05) and then start the reconstruction of the assigned values.
Caution
Program BPDIST05 does not guarantee that all inconsistencies in the budget data are eliminated. SAP therefore recommends that you eliminate inconsistent data using reconstruction of distributed values and manual budget adjustment.
You can find more information on the program in the program documentation under
and under
Reconstruct Budget Values
.
The budget structure only contains the elements, which are needed in your organization for central or local budgeting from all possible combinations of funds centers and commitment items. Only combinations of funds centers and commitment items that can be budgeted appear in the budget hierarchy.
