Generating Budget Structure from Templates You have to run this program if:
You have defined a budget structure (BS) using budget structure templates.
You have made changes to your budget structure templates which are used in a budget structure.
You have changed the assignment of budget structure templates to funds centers in a budget structure.
You should not execute this program if your valid BS already has budget values. Changing the BS could lead to inconsistent budget data.
If you execute the program and make changes to a valid BS with budget data, you must reconstruct the distributed and assigned values afterwards. For more information about these programs, see Reconstructing Distributed Values and Reconstructing Assigned Values.
If the data is inconsistent, you have two options to resolve this:
You use the program Reconstruction of Distributed Values (BPDIST01) to reconstruct distributed values. You must then adjust the budget values manually and execute the program for reconstructing the assigned values.
Reconstruct the budget values using program Reconstruction of Budget Values (BPDIST05) and then start the reconstruction of the assigned values.
Caution
The program BPDIST05 does not guarantee the complete removal of inconsistent budget data. For information about these limitations, see the program documentation by selecting
. SAP therefore recommends that you eliminate inconsistent data using reconstruction of distributed values and manual budget adjustment.
Enter an FM area
.
Enter one or more funds for which you have defined or changed the budget structure. The system then updates all budget structures (funds/years) based on the entry in the Fund
field.
If you are not working with funds, leave the field blank.
Only make an entry in the BS Template
field if you have made changes to a budget structure template that is already used in a budget structure.
Note
If you enter a fund and a BS template, the system ignores the fund entry. The budget structures are changed for all funds in which the specified template is assigned.
The system generates the budget objects and posting objects for all commitment items found in the BS templates in the respective funds centers. The system sets up the budget hierarchy according to the budget structure for budget allocation.
After generating the budget structure, in the budget structure display mode, you should check whether the budget structure was defined correctly and whether superior budget objects are available for all budget objects. To do this, choose Note that you must not select the Use BS Templates
indicator on the initial screen.
In the event of an error, you must either change the BS template or the assignment of the BS templates to the fund centers. Then generate the budget structure again.
