Defining Bdgt Structures Using Individual Objects

Use

You use this function to define which individual FM account assignments should be used for a Budget Structure in the FM area as budget objects and/or assignment objects.

As an alternative to this individual processing, you can also carry out Mass Processing .

Prerequisites

In order to define revenue account assignments as posting objects, you must define the corresponding Customizing settings. For more information, see Define Revenue Account Assignments as Posting Objects .

Activities

  1. In the menu of Funds Management, choose Start of the navigation path Master Data Next navigation step Use of Account AssignmentElements Next navigation step Former Budgeting Next navigation step Budget Structure Next navigation step Change. End of the navigation path

  2. Enter the necessary data on the initial screen and do not set the Use BS Template indicator.

    • Year-dependent budget structure

      If you want to edit a year-dependent budget structure, enter the relevant fiscal year.

    • Year-independent budget structure

      If you want to edit or change a year-independent budget structure, enter a fund but not a fiscal year.

      Even if you have defined a Budget Profile for a fund enabling you to use overall values and annual values, you can only define the budget structure for this fund as year-independent.

    • Editing subhierarchies

      If you do not want to edit the whole funds center and commitment item hierarchy, you can enter a funds center and commitment item from which the hierarchy is to be built up. In addition, you have the possibility of Restricting Levels .

  3. Choose (Enter).

    An overview of the funds center hierarchy is displayed according to the entry point you have chosen. By double-clicking on a funds center, you can expand all FM account assignments in combination with the respective commitment items.

  4. Define Budget Objects and Posting Objects:

    You can define budget objects and posting objects in the following ways:

    • You set the indicator Bud (Budget object) or Pos (posting object) for the individual combinations of funds center and commitment item.

    • You define budget objects and posting objects generically. To do this, set the Bud and/or Pos indicator for a particular funds center for all commitment items by choosing the entry *. All commitment items within this funds center are then budget objects or posting objects.

  5. Defining Assignment Objects:

    To define assignment objects, set the indicators CB for commitment budget or PB for the payment budget.

  6. Carry out a Consistency Check by clicking on (Check).

  7. Choose ( Save ).

Result

The system sets up the budget hierarchy in accordance with the budget structure for budget allocation.
