Restricting Levels

Use

With this function, you can specify the number of hierarchy levels you want the system to display for budget allocation or budget structure definition purposes, starting with the funds center and commitment item entered.

For complex funds centers and commitment item hierarchies, this improves system performance and gives a better overview when editing. This enables you to reduce the number of locked objects so that several users can work simultaneously.

Prerequisites

You can store the number of hierarchy levels as a recommendation value, in Customizing for Funds Management , by choosing Start of the navigation path Former Budgeting Next navigation step Budgeting Next navigation step Make Budget End of the navigation path S ettings. You can overwrite these default settings in the application if you wish.

Activities

If you do not know a funds center or commitment item for the level entry, you can choose Start of the navigation path Extras Next navigation step Funds center hierarchy End of the navigation path and Start of the navigation path Extras Next navigation step Commitment item hierarchy End of the navigation path to display the hierarchies. Double click the + field to expand the hierarchy so that you can select the funds center or commitment item you want. The initial item is then the level 1. In the list screen, this level is not identified with level number 1, but with the level number corresponding to the whole hierarchy.
