End of Trip

When the customer scans the End of Trip barcode in the device return area, the Wall Device Manager checks how many positions the virtual shopping basket contains. A message appears on the Self-Scanning Client screen and asks the customer whether they scanned all of the items in their physical shopping basket. If the customer confirms this question, the Self Scanning Client displays a message, prompting the customer to go to the POS. Otherwise, the Self Scanning Client returns to the list view so that the customer can scan items which they forgot to scan before.

Note:
In the current version of the Self Scanning Client, an empty virtual shopping basket is not supported. Therefore, a customer cannot finish their shopping trip without buying at least 1 item in the store.

The customer then starts the payment process at the check-out area with the help of the SAP Omnichannel Point-of-Sale by GK in the Pay Tower Self Checkout mode.

As described in the Functions section, a Self Scanning Client also supports the function Seamless Payment. The customer can use their personal payment details directly within the Self Scanning Client and therefore skip the payment process with the SAP Omnichannel Point-of-Sale by GK.
