Gift Certificate Sale

Gift certificate sale is performed in selling mode.

A gift certificate can be entered at any point of the selling process.

Gift certificate sale means that the tender immediately received is related to a future sales transaction. For redemption, the gift certificate is handled as a clearing line item or as a tender. It is possible to use an external Stored Value Server to enter a new gift certificate. To sell a gift certificate, use one of the following options:

• Go to the tab Items / Gift Certificates and select the desired type of gift certificate.
• Scan a corresponding barcode.

The gift certificate number will be determined. To do so, the following options are available:

• The gift certificate number is entered manually.
• The number is already printed on the gift certificate and can be entered by scanning.
• The gift certificate number is provided by the POS Client.

For manual entry of the gift certificate number, the mask shown below appears.

• Enter the gift certificate number and the amount required by the customer, using the numeric keypad.
• As soon as you click on the background, another input field, or the OK button, the input field is checked for validation.
• If the gift certificate number or the gift certificate amount are invalid, an error message is displayed.
• The expiration date is calculated automatically.
• The gift certificate, including gift certificate number and amount, is shown as a separate line item in the receipt preview.
