OSHA 300A: Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses

Definition

A form with which the data from the Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses (OSHA 300) is summarized and evaluated in accordance with U.S. law ( Occupational Safety and Health Act ).

OSHA 300A must be created once a year for the last completed calendar year and be made public in the following year, for example, by posting it in a visible place within the company.

OSHA 300A contains the following information, for example:

  • Total number of deaths

  • Total number of days away from work

  • Total number of injuries and illnesses by types such as respiratory conditions or skin disorders

Structure

OSHA 300A is a period-based accident report that is based on OSHA 300 (see OSHA 300: Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses ). The report template is supplied as a sample. It corresponds to the form prescribed by the OSHA authorities.

Caution Caution

The system extracts the data for OSHA 300A directly from the Incident/Accident Log exactly as it does for OSHA 300. The key figures Average Number of Employees and Total Number of Working Hours for the period in question are determined using the report program REHS_IAREP_DATA_DETERMINE. The program writes the data to a table that the Report Information System accesses when it generates the report. For more information, see the report documentation and Configure OSHA Recording in the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Industrial Hygiene and Safety .

End of the caution.

The following table shows which information the OSHA 300A contains and how it is determined from the SAP system:
