Entry of Booking Units This function is used to enter booking units for document items.
Booking units are found in the planning data for ad, online, commercial, ad insert and distribution items. This is not the case for service items.
Once you have entered the planning data for an item, the system generates sub-items, schedule lines and billing datasets when you confirm this data.

During generation of schedule lines, the system checks whether the booking unit has been created in the product master data and can be produced or sold on the date specified.
Booking units can be used to determine prices, contracts and sales agents for a document item.

If you enter more than one booking unit for an ad item, the content component in which the ad is to be published must be included in all booking units that you enter in this item. If this is not the case, you must either enter an item for each booking unit, generate the schedule lines manually or convert the content components in the product master data.

If you enter additional dates for an ad booking unit, the booking unit controls whether the system generates schedule lines on all of these additional dates.
