Generation of Sub-ItemsThis function is used to generate sub-items.
The system generates the sub-items when you confirm the item data.
Sub-items are generated for an item and describe it in terms of production in conjunction with the schedule lines.

The production view is displayed in a more detailed form at schedule line level than at sub-item level.

Reduced detail means that less data entry is required during assignment of alternate ad specs or ad inserts.
Each sub-item has a status that describes its processing level.

To describe items in terms of production. An ad item for a multi-page ad for publication in several newspapers is to be described in terms of production.
You have created the planning data for the item, which is defined by the item type.

The system displays all sub-items in an item in the sub-item overview. The sub-item that was selected in the sub-item overview is displayed on the
Details
tab page at item level.
If you change the planning data in an item, the system generates new sub-items when the item data is confirmed.
