Sales Agent DeterminationThis function is used if sales agents who are responsible for a particular business transaction are to be determined by the system automatically and assigned to a sales document with the respective contract requirement.
This function is part of document processing and is available to you as follows during creation, modification and billing of sales documents:
Customizing settings are made to define whether the system determines contract requirements for a billing dataset automatically when you create, change or bill a sales document.

If you change an order to which a contract requirement has been assigned, the system triggers sales agent determination again when it generates the billing datasets |
If the existing assignment no longer applies, the system deletes the assignment logically. The system determines the contract requirement that is suitable for the changed order data. Certain circumstances may cause additional assignments to be determined. |
If you bill an order to which a contract requirement has been assigned without changing the order data, the manner in which you have defined the item category determines whether the system triggers sales agent determination again. |

Example
A sales agent is responsible for a particular carrier route. An advertiser whose organization is based in this carrier route places an ad. The system assigns the sales agent to this order automatically.
The organization moves to a city district that is outside the sales agent carrier route before the order is billed. The sales agent is to receive commission for the order.
If you have defined the commission type so that sales agent determination is only performed in the order, the sales agent receives commission.
If you have defined the commission type so that sales agent determination is performed in the order and in billing, the sales agent does not receive commission.
