Overview: Component Maintenance CockpitThe CMC is a daily tool for MRO work centers and planners. It can provide a vast amount of information related to PM/CS orders, operations, and notifications, enable the use of automatic scheduling and prioritization of work for specific orders or specific work centers, as well as allow you to monitor work progress, identify bottlenecks, and use it as an overall decision-making tool for order handling.
The CMC has two different views - a work center view displaying information on operations that are to be performed in a selected work center, and a general view displaying information on all operations in the selected orders. This enables you to use the CMC for work center planning as well as for general monitoring purposes.
Note
The view that you select influences the calculations that the CMC performs. If you select a work center view the CMC only performs the calculations for the operations that are assigned to that work center, whereas in the general view the CMC performs the calculations for the entire order.
Depending on the Customizing settings, the CMC provides work centers and planners with a great variety of information on notifications, purchase orders, purchase requisitions, work in progress, completed operations, PM-, CS- and refurbishment-orders.
You have defined the Customizing settings for the CMC.
You have defined user statuses in the SAP Reference IMG under .
For more information on user statuses, see Status Management .
The CMC contains among others:
a selection screen to restrict/select the information you want to display in the CMC, thus providing better system performance, and giving you a choice of information on order header level, operation header level, and notification level, as well as use of a single work-center view (operations in selected work center) or a general work center view (all operations in selected orders).
a split screen with:
an order hierarchy showing order types, order codes, user statuses, alert settings and warnings, as well as a context menu among other things,
order/operation-specific information in columns providing details on priority values, dates, work centers, buffer, and so on
tabstrips providing more detailed information on the order, equipment, material, operation, task list, and warnings and delays.
calculation and distribution of available buffer across the operations in an order
ROC-scheduling of open-loop orders.
