Accessing Objects via Object Type IDsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Access objects using object type IDs by following the instructions given in this topic.

Context

If you want to call up an object directly for translation in transaction SE63, you must know the following:
  • The translation object type, such as data element short text or message long text
  • The technical name of the object you want to translate, such as SPRAS

Each object type that you translate in transaction Translation: Initial Screen (SE63) has its own ID. For example, the short text object type messages has the ID MESS. These IDs are displayed in the following situations:

  • In front of each object type in the worklist.

    For more information, see Worklists.

  • When you expand the object type nodes in the statistics.

For more information, see Translation Statistics for Translators and Statistics Display.

  • When you monitor the progress of an evaluation.

For more information, see Evaluations and Monitoring an Evaluation Run.ev

After you have called up the initial screen of transaction SE63, you can use object type IDs to branch to the entry screen for the translation object type that you require, such as data element short text or message long text.
