Import Queue Web UI - Starting the Import of All TransportsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

You have the required authorization. For more information, see Import Queue Web UI - Authorizations.

Recommendation To prevent transports from being placed in the import queue shortly before the import, and perhaps being imported unintentionally, we recommend closing the import queue before the import. For ABAP transports, also read the notes on Precautionary Measures in the Target System.

Context

The function Import All... lets you import the objects of all transports which are in the import queue before the stop mark into the target system. You can also schedule this import to occur at a specific time.

Procedure

  1. Start the Import Queue Web UI for the system for which you want to perform imports.
  2. If you want to ensure that only the displayed transports are imported, close the import queue. This places any other transports that are released, or that are forwarded to this transport route after the stop mark in the import queue.
    Note

    Only transports with the import status Transport is ready for import or the status Transport is ready for re-import are imported.

    You cannot start the import of transports that are currently being imported, or for which an import is already scheduled.

    You cannot import transports that have the status Approval missing. If you still want to import them, for example if the QA system is not available, you must activate the transports.

  3. Choose Import All....

    The Start Import dialog box appears.

  4. In this dialog box, you see the target system for the import. For ABAP transports, you also see the target client. If extended transport control is not activated, you can define the target client for the import. For more information, see Handling Target Clients.
  5. After you have made your settings in the Start Import dialog box, check them, and choose Import.

Results

The imports are started or scheduled in the target system. The relevant status is displayed in the Import Queue Web UI.

If you have closed the queue, it will be opened again automatically after the import is finished. This means that the stop mark that you have set will be removed from the queue.

As long as the transport is in the import queue you can click on the return code to open the Transport Log Viewer where you can see return codes and detailed logs of completed transport steps. Afterwards, you can display this information using the Import History Web UI.
