For more information concerning the prerequisites for specific use cases, see Import Queue Web UI - Use Cases.
You have activated the services for the Import Queue Web UI on the system which acts as communication system for the non-ABAP system, or on the ABAP system itself, if you want to import ABAP transports requests.
For more information, see Activating Services for Import Queue Web UI.
You have the authorization to perform imports.
For more information, see Import Queue Web UI - Authorizations.
After you release a transport, the objects in the transport are exported and stored in the transport directory. At the same time, the transport is marked for import into the target system by being placed in the import queue of the target system. After the export log has been checked, the developer's or project manager's work is initially finished. The transports are placed according to the transport routes in the import queues of the consolidation systems (for example, in the test system). After having performed quality assurance tests, the subsequent import into the target system is generally performed by the transport administration.
The Import Queue Web UI is a web-based user interface that allows you to perform imports of ABAP and non-ABAP transports. It provides the most commonly used functions of the classical SAP GUI import queue in Transport Management System (TMS). Moreover, it offers import checks for ABAP and non-ABAP transports to check for potential downgrades and predecessors in the import queue. The Import History gives you an overview of transports that were already imported in the system and the results of the import.
The Import Queue Web UI can be used in parallel to the classical SAP GUI import queue. For more information on the classical import queue, see Performing Transports.
