Import Queue Web UI - Performing Import Checks

Use

The import checks in the Import Queue Web UI provide checks for transports of ABAP and non-ABAP objects. The checks calculate overlaps between objects in the selected transports in the import queue and other transports in the system. Identical values of application type and object ID are used to determine overlaps.

Note

The import checks do not support the following objects:

Objects without detailed object lists. That is, object lists without single objects with object IDs.
Objects with detailed object lists that use hierarchies. That is, when parent objects are modeled and listed.
Objects of SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI)
Objects of SAP Process Integration (SAP PI)

No results can be calculated for checks of objects mentioned above.

The following checks are available:

Predecessor Check

The check evaluates if there are predecessor transports for the selected transports in the import queue. Predecessor transports are transports that were previously added to the import queue, but which are not selected and which contain the same objects. The check calculates overlapping objects in transports, both for ABAP and non-ABAP transports. When executing the check you can choose if the check is to end for a selected transport as soon as the system has found an overlap or if it is to display a complete list of all predecessors. If object overlaps are found, you must decide if you want to include the predecessor transports in the import. If you want to continue with the import without the predecessors, we recommend that you select the import option Leave transport in queue for later import. In this case, the transport will be imported again in the correct order in the next import of all transports.

Note that the check only finds direct predecessors in the import queue, but not recursive ones.

Downgrade Check

The check calculates if any of the selected transports in the import queue contains a version of an object that is older than the one that has been previously imported. If the older version of the object was imported, this would “downgrade” the object.

Note The calculation of the object version is based on the export time stamp. An earlier export time stamp suggests an older object version.

Procedure

Start the Import Queue Web UI for the system for which you want to perform the import checks.

Select one or more transports.
To start the import checks for the selected transports, choose Import Checks....
On the next dialog box, select the checks that you want to perform:
- To perform the Predecessor check, select Predecessor Check. You have the following options:
  - Check if Any Exists
    
    Checks for each of the selected transports if at least one object overlaps with objects from predecessor transports. As soon as one overlapping object has been found for each selected transport, the check stops and displays that an overlap has been found.
    
    Use this option if you want to find any predecessor transports quickly.
  - Check for All
    
    Finds all objects overlapping with predecessor transports and gives a detailed overview of all overlaps that have been found.
    
    Use this option if you need the complete information on overlapping objects and if you want to analyze those existing overlaps.
- To perform the Downgrade check, select Downgrade Check.
Choose Check.

Note The import checks are also performed when you select the Import options Perform Predecessor Check and Perform Downgrade Check when you start the import of single transports in Import Queue Web UI.
