Prerequisites

Exporting Translation Data.
Context
- If you export proposals via an object list, then the resulting proposal pool
file only contains proposals that give translated status to lines in short text
objects in the selected object list.
Example
Data element MLNDK is included
in object list 14, which you use to export the German to English
proposal pool. Data element
MLNDK includes the German
source text Vorgang, which has been translated as
Transaction. The translation status of this short text line
is translated, because the English translation Transaction
matches the system standard Transaction in the German to English
proposal pool. The German to English proposal pool contains two more
system standards – Procedure and Activity – for the same
German source text Vorgang. The report exports the proposal
Transaction, but does not export Procedure or
Activity, because these proposals do not give translated
status to any lines in any short text objects in object list 14.
- You cannot export deleted proposals via an object list, because a deleted
proposal cannot give translated status to a short text line.
- If you export fingerprints via an object list, then the resulting fingerprint file only
contains fingerprints that give translated status to
SE61 long text objects, FORMs, and
STYLs in the selected object list.
Procedure
- Call transaction LXE_MASTER and choose .
The Export Translation Data screen appears.
- In the Directory field, enter the name of the directory
to which you want to export the translation data.
- Enter the language keys in the Target Languages field of
the target language(s) for which you want to export translation data. You can
use the input help to specify one target language, or you can select one of the
following pushbuttons:
-
allows you to enter several language keys.
-
inserts all of the target languages that have been defined in
the translation graphs.
-
inserts all of the target languages that have been defined on
the Languages tab in transaction
LXE_MASTER.
- Select the Object List Export checkbox.
This deactivates all of the export options that cannot be used when
translation data is exported via an object list.
- Use the input help for the Object List field to select
the object list that you want to use as the basis for this export.
It is not possible to select more than one object list. If you want to use
the objects in multiple object lists as the basis for the export, you need
to merge them first.
- In the field Description (Optional), you are advised to
enter a meaningful description for your translation data exports so that you
can easily recognize them later in table
LXE_LOG_DATA_TRP.
- In the Data Selection group box, use the checkboxes to
specify whether you want to export proposal pools, fingerprints, or both.
If you include proposal pools in your export, the following checkboxes are
relevant to you in the Proposal Pool Options group
box:
-
The Old Language Keys checkbox must be selected
if the target system for this proposal pool export runs on Basis
Release 6.20 SP25 (or higher), or Basis Release 6.40. If the target
system for this proposal pool export runs on Basis Release 7.00 or
higher, do not select this checkbox.
-
The Add Best Proposal checkbox ensures that, in addition to
exporting the proposals used to give translated status to the source
texts in the objects in the object list, you also export the best
proposals in cases where a proposal other than the best proposal is
used to give translated status to the source text.
- Schedule the job to run in the background by choosing .
Results
The system creates export files containing the proposals and/or fingerprints that
satisfy the criteria you specified. Proposals and fingerprints are stored in
separate files. The file names are generated automatically and look like this:
- P_deDE_enUS.ABC contains proposals for source language
German and target language English that were exported from system
<ABC>.
- FIPR_deDE.ABC contains fingerprints for target language
German from source system <ABC>.
You can view your translation data exports in table
LXE_LOG_DATA_TRP.
