You want to allow end users to request background processing changes in Service Desk messages. You link the job documentation to the message, to be able to trace the changes in the SAP Solution Manager. You want to accept or reject the requested changes in Change Management, and document the change phases and background processing, for example, development and testing, centrally.

Prerequisites

You have made the necessary system settings in the SAP Solution Manager customizing, under   Configuration   Scenario-Specific Settings   Change Management   Change Request Management   Extended Configuration   Change Transaction   Change Transaction Types  .

Process

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

Overview of the Change Management process with SAP Central Process Scheduling by Redwood.

  1. The end user enters a Job Request based on a Service Desk message.

  2. The Service Desk colleague processes the Service Desk message by creating a change request for the job request and assigning this to a change manager.

For more information, see Process Service Desk Message.

  3. The change manager either approves or rejects the change request.

If the change manager approves the change request, job documentation is assigned to the change document. The change manager can create new job documentation or assign existing documentation.

For more information, see Processing Change Request.

  4. The Service Desk colleague processes the change document.

For more information, see Processing Change Documents.

    1. The Service Desk colleague displays and checks the changes that have been made to the job documentation.

For more information, see Displaying Job Documentation Changes.

    2. The Service Desk colleague updates the job documentation with the parameters in the job request.

For more information, see Updating Job Documentation.

    3. The Service Desk colleague can make further changes to the job documentation.

For more information, see Changing Job Documentation.
