Use

The monitoring work center of the System Management section includes the following options for monitoring your system:

      Availability

Offers a convenient way of gaining information at a glance about all the selected systems including status icons and progress bars for the availability grade of the contained instances. The detailed view offers further information such as the number of current users and the ABAP system’s average response time.

      Central Reports

These reports allow a user to view all monitors for the selected ABAP and Java systems and their applications. They are sorted by the monitor sets (view sets) and their monitor groups (view) that can be selected. A user can also specify whether to see the current data for the monitors or all the alerts, customizing data, associated methods, or defined thresholds. All views offer details such as configuration data, history, and the alert browser where alert history is displayed and where alerts can be completed (closed).

      Java System Reports

When a user needs to compare and contrast reports, he or she may do this using graphical charts or tables that display capacity planning, resource consumption, or error statistics. An evaluation of time periods can be adapted, from choosing a predefined period to customizing a personal date and time. Other reports can be viewed such as Requests, Components, and User activities that are retrieved from the Java Application Response-Time Management (JARM), a Local Monitor Browser, and Current Activities that displays the current processing requests of all threads.

      Guided Procedures

Displays the current status of Guided Procedure components. Export and import requests are displayed for a specific time period, together with the transported content. All activated templates can be checked for flow, parameter types, parameter mappings, OLEs, attachments, and so on. You can search for process instances and monitor their status and parameter values. You can also check the status of document and background queues.

Caution

You will see this plug-in only if you have Guided Procedures installed on your system.

      Logs and Traces

A tool that offers predefined views such as Last 24 Hours, Alerts, SAP Logs and many others can conveniently show different types of log files accessible with a click of a button. Personalized views can be created and even set as default view, so next time the tool is opened, your own view shows up. In addition, you can create your own view on the basis of the SAP Predefined views. The search and filter functionality assists in finding valuable information to problems reported from users or alerts that are found in the alert view. If necessary, the flexibility of customizing a table is available so that only the appropriate information is presented.

      Session Monitoring

You can monitor active user sessions in the Session Monitor.
