Component documentationKPI Catalog

The KPI catalog for SAP Solution Manager is a cloud service offered by SAP. It contains the definitions, technical documentation and comprehensive descriptions of KPIs (key performance indicators) and associated metrics that are available to you in SAP Solution Manager. This consists of both technical information such as how a KPI is measured, as well as information on the significance of the KPI for your enterprise. The KPI catalog is thereby the central point of storage and reference for all of your business-relevant key figures.

The realization of the KPI catalog as a cloud service ensures that the information (irrespective of the status of your SAP Solution Manager) is always up-to-date and generally accessible; furthermore, you can valuate individual KPIs and benefit from the experiences of other customers by taking the average valuation into account.

Despite the implementation as a cloud service, specific customer information can also be displayed in the KPI catalog, for example, the use of certain KPIs in your system landscape. This is because the user with which you are logged on to the KPI catalog is linked to your SAP customer number and thereby to the system landscape of your enterprise.

The catalog already contains more than 800 KPIs from different areas, for example:

The KPI catalog is continuously being enhanced by additional topics; it thereby contains uniformly displayed information on a structured and intuitively organized user interface, covering various subject areas and applications.

You can use the KPI catalog in two different ways:

If you start the catalog from an application, select one or more KPIs to use these in the calling application, for example, to display current measured values of this key figure for a managed system. The KPI catalog thereby contains the required technical information, which the respective application requires to process the selected KPI. In this integrated form of the KPI catalog the entire catalog is not displayed, rather only the KPIs that are useful within the respective application.

Features

After the KPI catalog has been called, the overview view is displayed initially. Here you can use a search field and a navigation bar, which contains selected properties and their values that occur in the KPIs, to set various filters.

KPIs that meet the current filter and search settings are displayed in a list. To display all information stored for the KPI in the KPI catalog, switch to the detail view of the KPI. For this, select the desired KPI in the list.
